Gwyndaf 2009 Bulldog IIA host of local and national businesses have stepped forward to support the new-look Rally North Wales which will be held in Dolgellau on 28th March 2015. The North Wales Rally Services – Weir Laundry Equipment RNW Stages, fondly known as Rally North Wales will form part of the MSA Pirelli Welsh Rally Championship and will use the same forestry complex as the final round of the FIA World Rally Championship, Wales Rally GB.  Thanks to the support and assistance offered by a wrath of businesses across the country, the Wolverhampton and South Staffs Car Club (WSSCC) organised event will be a compact and cost effective event that offers the opportunity to compete on some of the best stages in the country for minimal outlay. Mini Dakar15 Day 2 (3)Another successful day for MINI at the 2015 Dakar Rally. Orlando Terranova (AR) and his co-driver Bernardo Graue (AR) have won the third stage at the toughest challenge in motorsports in South America. It was their third stage win at this year’s Dakar. After a crash on the final kilometres on Monday the Argentinean duo was able to reduce the 22 minutes gap to the leader by almost four minutes. They are now back in a strong  third place overall. The second day of the Dakar Rally, taking the crews from Villa Carlos Paz to San Juan in Argentina, contained the longest special stage of the rally at 518 kilometres. Not only was the stage long but also very varied, starting off with some tight and twisty sections, followed by dust and sand. The biggest difficulty though was the extreme heat, which caused all the competing crews to suffer. The legendary Dakar is already living up to its fearsome reputation.

For Team Peugeot Total, today was always going to be a very tough test, as it was the PEUGEOT 2008 DKR’s first taste of the sort of varied and hot terrain that is typical of the Dakar. Nonetheless, it passed this very important test, setting a top-10 stage time. Read More »

Nasser Al-Attiyah (QT) and his co-driver Mathieu Baumel (FR) in the MINI ALL4 Racing have won stage two of the 2015 Dakar Rally. On leg two the drivers had to cover 625 kilometres from Villa Carlos Paz (AR) to San Juan (AR), including the longest stage of the whole event with a total of 518 kilometres.

“That was a good run,” Al-Attiyah said after crossing the finish line. “It was the longest stage of the whole rally so it was not an easy one. Quite tough to be honest. We have to keep going like this, then we can maybe win the Dakar.” Read More »
