WWRS15 Mid Wales BSimon and Alister Crook and Grahame Standen/Jane Edgington were the major victors on the second round of the West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C. Rally Championship, the Viking Motorsport/Links Electrical Mid Wales Stages (Sunday 1 March).

The Crook brothers were highest R.A.C. finishers in their Open Category Opel Manta, while Standen turned in a superb performance to finishing leading historic runner in his 1600cc Ford Escort Mk2. Read More »

Kumho Jennings15The 2013 Irish Rally Champion, Garry Jennings, heads the points after round one of the 2015 national series, despite not winning the event outright. The fact is, though he brought his Kumho-shod Subaru Impreza WRC S12B home 38.7 seconds behind the Ford Focus WRC of his old adversary Donagh Kelly on last weekend’s (February 22) Birr Stages Rally, he ultimately accumulated more points by being the fastest of all through the so-called ‘power stage’. BHRC15 Mid Wales BNick Elliott and Dave Price were the big winners on round two of the Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship, the Viking Motorsport/Links Electrical Mid Wales Stages (Sunday 1 March). Despite some truly demanding conditions on some classic gravel stages, the Ford Escort Mk2 crew made it five wins from six in the historic section of the event. Read More »

Citroen Pechito14aAfter amassing 17 race wins and two world titles in their very first season in the competition, the Citroën Total team are about to start a brand new FIA WTCC campaign.  The first round takes place in Argentina, the home country of World Champion Pechito López. Four official C-Elysée WTCCs will be competing all season long. José María López, Yvan Muller, Sébastien Loeb and Ma Qing Hua will be aiming to bring more silverware Citroën’s way.  A fifth car, driven by Mehdi Bennani and managed by Sébastien Loeb Racing, will be entered in a private. After the icy tarmac and frozen, snow-covered gravel of the first two rounds of the season, the World Rally Championship makes a dramatic change of scene in Mexico. At close to 2,800 metres above sea level, the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team will tackle the gravel stages in hot conditions. Mads Østberg/Jonas Andersson and Kris Meeke/Paul Nagle will be driving the two DS 3 WRCs. A DS 3 R5 has been entered for Stéphane Lefebvre and Stéphane Prévot in the WRC2 category.

The European winter is already long forgotten for the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team, as they cross the Atlantic to take part in a long series of six consecutive gravel rallies, lasting until August. Read More »

– Last flying Vulcan bomber will make a starring appearance at this year’s Cholmondeley Pageant of Power (CPOP) on the final day, Sunday 14th June
– Red Bull Matadors Aerobatic Team will also wow the crowds making for an incredible sight above Cholmondeley Castle
– CPOP will also celebrate ‘power’ on land and water too with events including a 1,000bhp-plus class on the famous Cholmondeley race track
– In addition, the festival will celebrate the Lotus marque on Friday, American Muscle cars on Saturday and Eighties supercars on Sunday

McLaren young drivers 2015Further to the recent announcement regarding the launch of the Young Driver Programme, it has now been confirmed that McLaren GT rookies Andrew Watson (Northern Ireland, 19) and Ross Wylie (Scotland, 23) will contest the Avon Tyres British GT Championship. The pair will line up with McLaren GT customer team Von Ryan Racing to campaign the one of two examples of the new 650S GT3 being run by the team in the seven round calendar. Read More »

Nissan Chilton– Max Chilton moves from F1 to P1 for full FIA World Endurance Championship season
– YouTube star Alex Buncombe completes the line-up for the third Nissan LM P1 car at Le Mans

Former F1 racer Max Chilton and Nissan regular Alex Buncombe have completed Nissan’s squad of nine drivers for the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO.  This news was announced ahead of the Geneva Motor Show where Nissan’s LM P1 car will appear for the first time in Europe. Read More »

George_Morrison_PR3_15_ActionAfter a disappointing mechanical failure on last month’s season opening Wyedean Rally, MG ZR pilot George Morrison will head to Cumbria next weekend as he contests the second round of the REIS-Ravenol BTRDA Rally Series, the Malcom Wilson Rally.  The HM Forces Mechanic from Tidworth in Wiltshire suffered a driveshaft failure on only the second stage of the event in the Forest of Dean and is looking to get his championship hopes back on track at the 7th March event.
