Steve_Brown_PR2_15_ToEThe debut of new car can sometimes be a troublesome affair, but Rochdale’s Nissan Kit Car pilot Steve Brown guided his all new class B9 Micra to a creditable fourth in class and 59th overall at the Melvyn Evans Motorsport Tour of Epynt Rally last weekend. Thanks mainly to the weather, the opening round of the REIS MSA Ashpalt Rally Championship would provide a tougher than usual start to the season in Wales, but Brown took it all in his stride to finish the rain soaked event with a solid start for his championship campaign. The Citroën C-Elysée WTCCs dominated the first two races of the 2015 FIA World Touring Car Championship. José María López won race 1 at the Termas de Río Hondo circuit, ahead of teammates Yvan Muller and Sébastien Loeb. Sébastien Loeb then produced a magnificent performance in race 2 to keep José María López at bay and claim his third victory in the competition.  José María López and Citroën leave Argentina as leaders of the World Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ Championships.

Mads Østberg and Jonas Andersson finished as runners-up at Rally Mexico in their DS 3 WRC. It is the first time the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team has finished on the podium so far this season. This result, obtained at one of the most specialised rallies on the WRC calendar, kicks off a lengthy series of six gravel rounds, which continues in Argentina on 23-26 April.
