A measured drive on the Manx Rally means that Simon Mauger still leads the REIS MSA National Championship, after what was a very challenging two days of rallying on the famous roads on the Isle of Man. The first round of the 2015 Brick & Steel Junior 1000 Rally Championship at Knockhill on 16/17th May was always going to be a much anticipated event. midshires15 (38)Only our 2nd ever grasstrack sidecar meeting, (usually due to returning from the Isle of Man), saw overcast but dry weather conditions. It was almost perfect and the ‘A’ final saw Rod Winterburn & Liam Brown take a hard fought win in the 1000cc sidecar final from Gareth & Billy Winterburn with Colin Blackborn & Carl Pugh completing the top 3 overall. The ‘big chairs’ as they are affectionately called really are something else to watch but the solos or uprights make up the bulk of the races. In the premier 500cc class James Shaines came out victorious from Paul Cooper after a superb battle in the final. Read More »

Bird Manx15aLangwathby rally driver Paul Bird looked set to claim a fourth victory on the IMGold Manx National Rally this weekend after leading from the start but for a second year in succession, his hopes were dashed just three stages from home.
