Twin Busch Kumho pre-ring15Twin Busch has been the front running privateer team in Germany’s Nürburgring-based VLN Championship for some years now, even winning one round outright in 2013. The squad’s history in the ‘Green Hell’s’ gruelling 24 Hour race is also mighty impressive and they last year finished 10th overall behind nine works outfits. In a shocking display of attempting to manipulate the forthcoming East African Classic Safari Rally, the organisers have taken the unusual decision to ban the Ford Capri Perana of 2013 winner Ian Duncan. Attempts by Duncan to discuss this situation with the organizers has met with no success. By banning the winning car from the 2013 edition (after having initially accepted the entry and entry fee!), the organisers have also ruled out no less than three other Ford Capri Peranas from the nine day event!

The fourth meeting of the 2015 FIA WTCC will be a very special one, providing the curtain-raiser for the Nürburgring 24-hour race. On Saturday morning, the competitors will battle it out on a 25.947 km circuit comprising both the Grand-Prix track and the legendary Nordschleife. After clocking the fastest times of the collective testing day held two weeks ago, the Citroën C-Elysée WTCCs have every intention of claiming the spoils from this prestigious meeting.

In terms of legendary venues revered by motorsport fans, the Nürburgring is right up there with Monaco, Indianapolis and Le Mans. The circuit, which lies in the Ahrweiler district, has undergone a number of redevelopments since it was built in the late twenties, but, thanks to the famous Nordschleife, it has kept its soul. Jordan pre-Lydden152013 British Touring Car Champion Andrew Jordan returns to the sport he started 11 years ago, joining the PEUGEOT 208 WRX team for the British round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. Joining the two official team drivers Timmy Hansen #21 and Davy Jeanney #17 as the third pilot and a wildcard for the event, Jordan will tackle the Lydden Hill track for the second year running.

Andrew Jordan feels at home at the Kent circuit, taking third place last year, and his experience and expertise will be a great asset in the World Championship quest of the Team Peugeot-Hansen. Read More »
