The European leg of the FIA WTCC season wraps up this weekend on the Vila Real street circuit in Portugal. On this ultra-fast track snaking between the Armco and stone walls, a “fearless” apporoach could make all the difference. This eighth round of the season could either see the gaps increase or diminish between the three Citroën drivers leading the World Championship: José María López, Yvan Muller and Sébastien Loeb. In the battle for fourth place in the general classification, Ma Qing Hua will look to consolidate his progress while aiming for his first win of the season.   PIC

Tour de France (106)For a second year in succession we made the visit to Le Tour for the opening 3 stages. The 2015 start was in Utrecht where it was really hot and packed full of enthusiastic Dutch fans. The cheers that erupted for every Dutch rider and the home team Lotto Jumbo were something to experience but it was BMC’s Rohan Dennis who took the opening maillot jaune. Day two saw the riders head out to Zeeland and echelons were the name of the day but it was the heavy downpour near the end that blew the field apart. Read More »

Kris Meeke/Paul Nagle secured seventh overall and Mads Østberg/Jonas Andersson finished in ninth position at Rally Poland, ensuring that the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team holds onto second place in the manufacturers’ standings. In the WRC2 category, the DS 3 R5 driven by Karl Kruuda and Martin Jarveoja finished on the podium. The WRC heads to Finland for the next round on 30 July-02 August.

The exceptional motorsport engineering career of Sir Patrick Head was recognised by the MIA at the House of Lords on 30 June 2015, with the presentation of their Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Motorsport Industry.

This prestigious award was presented by the Rt Hon Lord Drayson of Kensington, at the MIA’s annual summer reception, where 300 guests from government, parliament and the global motorsport industry were hosted by the MIA, as it also celebrated its 21st Birthday.

Sir Patrick enjoyed a 45-year career in motorsport, during which time his cars won 114 Grands Prix, nine Formula One Constructors’ and seven Drivers’ World Championships and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Read More »

WorldRX15 SwedenSweden’s Mattias Ekstrom has become the fifth different winner in this year’s FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy after clinching the victory at the Volkswagen World RX of Sweden in an exhilarating final race. Timmy Hansen was declared the initial winner but his victory was later revoked after a stewards’ enquiry confirmed the Swede was penalised for pushing in the final.  As a consequence, Hansen was demoted to second while Ford Olsbergs MSE driver Andreas Bakkerud finished third.
