Two weeks after the Japanese round, the FIA WTCC is heading to Shanghai for what promises to be one of the highlights of the season.

Accounting for more than a quarter of Citroën’s global sales, China is the brand’s premier market, ahead of France. In 2014, Citroën’s growth in China (14%) outstripped that of the market as a whole (10%) and vehicle sales hit a record 320,000. This strong performance was driven in no small measure by an assault on the C-segment. Following the MIA’s Motorsport to Defence Supplier Showcase event at General Dynamics UK, in South Wales (July 2014), MIA member Williams Advanced Engineering has recently announced their new £17 million partnership with General Dynamics UK, on the AJAX backbone.

The MIA’s M2D Initiative was created in 2007, to help motorsport companies engage with the defence industry and maximise the business opportunities which existed between them.
