Five weeks after winning the Manufacturers’ World Championship in China*, Citroën is preparing for what could be another decisive weekend. This weekend’s meeting could see José María López, who has led the standings by a comfortable margin all year, clinch a second FIA WTCC title. Only Yvan Muller can stand in his way. Sébastien Loeb and Ma Qing Hua complete a quartet of Citroën Total drivers at the top of the table. DS Virgin Beijing15DS Virgin Racing’s Sam Bird picked up his first points of the season in Beijing as Renault’s Sébastien Buemi claimed victory in the Chinese capital.

The British driver crossed the line in seventh place to claim six points, as team-mate Jean-Éric Vergne finished outside the points in 12th.

Bird, who topped the FanBoost leaderboard to claim an extra 100kJ of energy in the second half of the race, started well from ninth position and quickly made his way through the pack to sixth, before suffering a setback which saw him slip back down to 11th. Read More »

The Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team therefore strengthened its hold on second place in the World Championship before the final round of the season.
