BHRC16 Pirelli BThe special award winners from the third round of the 2016 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship, the Pirelli Carlisle Rally (Saturday 30 April) have been announced following the rally that also featured the second round of the Holton Homes Clubmans Challenge.

The Holton Homes Clubmans Challenge is for crews using a maximum of six tyres per rally. The top overall finishers from the Clubmans Challenge field were Chris Skill and Tom Jordan. Read More »

Yates Pirelli16Brettex Site Services backed rally driver Rhys Yates secured a solid result at last weekend’s Carlisle Rally, finishing 11th overall at round three of the MSA British Rally Championship.  Recovering from an early puncture which sent the Ford Fiesta R5 tumbling down the leader board to 22nd, Yates fought back during the two day event to finish just shy of a top ten position. Over the years, Marrakech has become one of the highlights of the FIA WTCC season. Now the circuit is inaugurating a new track, completely different from its predecessor. José María López and Citroën currently lead the World Championship standings and will be looking to continue their momentum, while Yvan Muller will be seeking his first race win of 2016.

The Citroën Total drivers will be joined by Mehdi Bennani, who will enjoy unstinting support from his home crowd after a stellar start to the season for the SLR team in his Citroën C-Elysée WTCC. Read More »

– JD Classics scores two superb victories at the prestigious Donington Historic Festival weekend
– The Ford Cologne Capri, driven by Steve Soper and Chris Ward, drove took victory in the Historic Touring Car Challenge
– The JD Classics Costin Lister, also driven by Chris Ward, battled testing weather conditions to take the win in the Stirling Moss Trophy
– Other JD Classics-supported cars performed well over the weekend, with their Austin Healey 100S picking up a class 3rd in the Woodcote Trophy, while a Jaguar XK120, Jaguar D-type and the Datsun 240Z Super Samurai ‘Big Sam’ all put in admirable performances

Swedish star Fredrik Ahlin and his Norwegian co-driver Morten Erik Abrahamsen driving for local team CA1 Sport, made it three different winners in the opening three rounds of this year’s MSA British Rally Championship with victory on last weekend’s Pirelli Carlisle Rally (April 30/May 1).

The 24-year-old in his Pirelli-shod Ford Fiesta R5 became the first Swedish driver since 1995 to win a round of Britain’s premier rallying series. Along with the win, Ahlin played his ‘Joker’ which doubled his points allowing him to overtake rival Elfyn Evans at the top of points standings. He now holds a five-point advantage after the Cumbrian event. Read More »
