BHRC pre-Harry16The 2016 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship moves to asphalt for round five, the Harry Flatters Rally on Sunday 31 July.

After four rounds, Irish ace Paul Barrett heads the overall points’ table after a fabulous campaign in his Pinto-powered Ford Escort Mk2. Now comes a switch to asphalt and the demanding Epynt ranges always deliver a tough challenge, but Barrett is no stranger to asphalt and has every chance of maintaining his overall lead. Banchory’s Fred Milne drove his Mitsubishi Evo 8 to a fine overall victory in Saturday’s Scottish Rally Time Trial Championship round in Drumtochty Glen. intgtopen16-42A familiar venue but a new event for us as we took in the International GT Open weekend. With a mixture of open wheel, prototypes and closed top GT cars across 4 separate categories, each with multiple races, our attention was always going to be drawn to the GT series. In the first race it was Craig Dolby & Tomas Enge who took their Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 to victory, in the sunshine of Saturday afternoon. The overcast conditions of Sunday, added to the revised handicap system based upon race 1, saw Salih Yoluc & Euan Hankey take a comfortable win in their Aston Martin Vantage GT3. JamieAndersonJust days after launching the 2016 Event Signs Woodpecker Stages Rally, organisers of the Ludlow based event were rewarded with a wrath of entries from competitors, all keen to sample one of the most popular events in the British Rallying calendar.  Now in its 33rd year, the Sixty and Worcestershire Motor Club organised event is a qualifying round of the popular Ravenol BTRDA Rally Series and Pirelli MSA Welsh Stage Rally Championship, offering over 40 stage miles across classic stages in the Welsh Marches and Shropshire forests. RAC pre-Harry16After a break since round two, the Fuchs Lubricants R.A.C. Historic Asphalt Rally Championship, resumes on the Harry Flatters Rally on Epynt (Sunday 31 July).

Along with the early championship contenders, several crews are joining the championship for the challenge of the Epynt ranges and the scene is set for a very competitive event as the championship runs alongside the Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship for the first time. Read More »
