Seven examples of the McLaren 650S GT3 were in action over the weekend, taking part in the Total 24 Hours of Spa and the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course round of the Pirelli World Challenge.  As a result of the challenging weekend, McLaren GT associated drivers and customer teams now lead the points tallies in seven of the standings associated with the two championships, including McLaren leading the Pirelli World Challenge Manufacturer Championship.

Six weeks after the European season came to a close, the FIA WTCC begins its world tour in Argentina. At the Termas de Río Hondo circuit, José María López will be the crowd favourite. Like his teammate Yvan Muller, Pechito will be keen to continue the Citroën C-Elysée WTCC’s South American winning streak.

For Citroën Racing, Argentina is a promised land, rich with exploits. The team’s ten World Rally Championship victories between 2004 and 2015 are an all-time record, while the Citroën C-Elysée WTCC is unbeaten in four races at the Autodromo Termas de Río Hondo. Maserati Classic16aMaserati was in action this weekend at Silverstone as the Official Pace Car for the Silverstone Classic, the world’s biggest classic motor racing festival held 29-31 July.

The Quattroporte and Ghibli pace cars were used by the Clerk of the Course’s team of marshals across the weekend to support the on-track action.  Whilst the track action is historic in nature, Maserati displayed their recently launched Levante SUV alongside current Ghibli and Quattroporte models in a display area nestled amongst the numerous Maserati Club cars also on show. Cammish Snetterton16Daniel Cammish secured his third double victory of the season at Snetterton when he crossed the line to win round 10 of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB.

The championship leader started the first race of the day from the pole position in brilliant sunshine to lead the field as round 9 started. Despite pressure from teammate and Porsche Scholar Charlie Eastwood, Dan controlled the race superbly, never showing a hint of things being less than under control, to take his sixth win of the year. Reigning champion Gordon Shedden claimed a last-gasp victory to end a breathless day of BTCC racing at Snetterton, which also included wins for Colin Turkington and Mat Jackson.
