This unique event, organised by Solway Car Club over the military ranges near Kirkcudbright, is a round of all 3 UK Junior 1000 Championships – the Kick Energy Junior 1000 Rally Championship; the Brick & Steel Junior 1000 Ecosse Challenge and the McGrady Insurance ANICC Junior 1000 Rally Challenge Ireland. The classic bike action at Footman James Sywell Classic: Pistons and Props, held Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September at Sywell Aerodrome, continues to grow with a fantastic mix of motorcycles in action on the Sprint Strip and Racing Runway as well as on static display.

Amongst the 50 bikes in action is a 1974 Yamaha TZ 700cc, raced in period by American Gene Romero. This machine won the Daytona 200 in the USA in 1975 and will be ridden at Sywell Classic by Paul Cott.

Bike enthusiasts at Sywell Classic will also see ex Moto GP rider Laurant Naveau’s 1996 ROC Yamaha YZR 500cc, used in the Moto GP from 1996 through to 1998, ridden by Jack Machin. Read More »

The #59 McLaren 570S GT4 run by customer team Black Bull Ecurie Ecosse scored victory over the weekend at Snetterton, the penultimate round of the 2016 British GT Championship. After several strong performances in the season to-date – including consecutive pole positions at the previous two rounds – the result marks the debut victory for the track-dedicated Sports Series model which is still in its development season.

WorldRX16 pre-CanadaSweden’s Timmy Hansen has won this weekend’s World RX of Canada, round seven of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy.  Hansen – who drives for Team Peugeot-Hansen – took an unexpected victory after he was promoted to the final when Russia’s Timur Timerzyanov was black flagged after an incident in the semi-final.  Andreas Bakkerud [Hoonigan Racing Division] and Johan Kristoffersson [Volkswagen RX Sweden] finished second and third respectively. Arrinera Hussarya GTThe blue Arrinera Hussarya GT prototype, the same one which distinguished itself as the first Polish car to ever tackle the famous hillclimb at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed, visited Poland during a road tour which consisted of several photo locations in beautiful Polish cities. The car, which is a GT4 racer with a tubular frame, carbon fiber body, V8 engine and a sequential Hewland gearbox, looked its best against the backdrop of various spots in Szczecin, Wroclaw and Warsaw.
