Perthshire born junior rally driver Blair Brown (21) left last weekend’s Rally Isle of Man (15 – 17th September) with another notch in his motorsport CV having competed in all seven rounds of the DMACK Junior British Rally Championship 2016.

After a disappointing DNF at the Ulster Rally last month and knowing a podium position was out of his reach, the young Scot was aiming, above all else, to record a finish this time around. brown-iom16aNissan Micra Kit Car ace Steve Brown recorded an overwhelming class N1 victory at last weekend’s Rally Isle of Man, leading the three day event from start to finish.

Overcoming several potentially rally-ending dramas, Brown and co-driver Paul Stringer dominated the event and crossed the TT Grandstand finish line with over three minutes in hand to their nearest rivals, finishing an impressive 59th overall from a start position of 116. Read More »

yates-iom16bChesterfield rally star Rhys Yates showed an impressive turn of pace at last weekend’s Rally Isle of Man to record a series of top three stage times on the final round of the MSA British Rally Championship.  The Brettex Site Services backed ace was on track for his best performance of the year, before retirement during the closing stages of the three day event. bhrc-iom16cThe special award winners from the seventh and eighth rounds of the 2016 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship, the Isle of Man Classicagh (15-17 September) have been announced.

Father and son crew Bob and Dale Gibbons collected the award for the ‘Best Improvement on Seeding’, which is a set of axle brake pads from Mintex. They started as car 111 and finished 57th overall as they secured the BHRC Category 1 championship title with a tremendous performance in their Ford Cortina Mk2 GT. Read More »

Triumph Motorcycles has confirmed that the current stage of its land speed record attempt has been postponed due to the course conditions at Bonneville.

Rain at the start of the week has continued to affect the team’s running during the last seven days. While track inspections have shown that conditions improved, it has not been possible to create the constancy across the full eleven mile course required for the Triumph Infor Rocket Streamliner to safely conduct a Land Speed Record attempt..
