bilham_trackrodBingley rally star Sam Bilham finished off his season in style last weekend as he became the 2016 Maxxis MSA English Rally Champion at the MEM Malton Forest Rally in Yorkshire.

The Fiesta ST Trophy front runner conquered the tricky conditions in the Dalby Forest based event, to seal the prestigious title with a slender two point advantage over his nearest rival.  In a weekend of success for Bilham, the 20 year old also took the Class 4 English Championship honours and became Junior vice champion in the process. The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show will pay tribute to the ultimate motoring hero, legendary racing driver Ayrton Senna. As part of the show’s Heroes and Heroine’s theme, Senna’s Lotus 98T will be on display at Birmingham’s NEC from 11-13 November.

No one will ever forget Senna’s achievements, from his first home victory in São Paulo, in 1991, to Donington in 1993 when he overtook Schumacher, Wendlinger, Hill and Prost in just a minute and a half. Read More »

Following the most successful season in GT racing to-date for McLaren, with the 650S GT3 enjoying success across all continents on which it has competed, the customer racing team line-up has been further strengthened by Strakka Racing. The British-based team will field a minimum of four examples of the 650S GT3 in the full 10-round Blancpain GT Series throughout 2017, including the world-famous Total 24 Hours of Spa.

The announcement marks the start of a long-term partnership with Strakka Racing, focusing on talent development. As part of the programme, McLaren GT Academy Drivers will complete the driver line-up in one car, while Strakka Racing founder and driver Nick Leventis has also been confirmed. The remaining seats will be filled during an extensive testing programme over the coming months with the full line-ups to be confirmed ahead of the first Blancpain GT Series test. Read More »

Established British sportscar team Strakka Racing has forged a substantial long-term partnership with McLaren GT, the GT race car division of McLaren Group to be its latest customer race team. The Silverstone-based squad will expand to field a minimum four-car assault under the Strakka Racing banner to defend the 2017 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup in which McLaren GT secured both drivers’ and manufacturers’ titles earlier this year.
