The MSA has returned a total of £342,000 to event-organising clubs, representing 18.6 per cent of their 2015/16 insurance fees paid.

All event-organising clubs pay ‘per capita’ insurance fees in respect of competitors, which they then provide to the MSA to cover insurance management costs.

The MSA works hard to obtain the best possible insurance arrangements. At the same time, through risk management and by establishing a partial self-insurance scheme, the governing body aims to ensure a surplus over premiums and to make a rebate to the clubs concerned. Read More »

PEUGEOT 3008DKRs claimed the three fastest times for the second time since the start of the 2017 Dakar Rally. Sébastien LOEB, Stéphane PETERHANSEL and Cyril DESPRES locked out the podium on Tuesday’s shortened stage to make it an all-Team Peugeot Total overall top three once more, with the provisional leaderboard topped by LOEB/ELENA.

– The three surviving PEUGEOT 3008DKRs made their mark on the 2017 Dakar Rally’s marathon test by posting the three best times on Stage 8. Sébastien LOEB and Daniel ELENA topped Tuesday’s order with an effort of 4h11m2s which has taken them 1m38s clear of team-mates Stéphane PETERHANSEL/Jean-Paul COTTRET who were second quickest today (+3m35s). The sold run of Cyril DESPRES/David CASTERA was rewarded with the third-best time (+5m35s) and they are now back up to third overall, 6m19s ahead of Nani ROMA/Alex HARO BRAVO. Read More »

The poor weather conditions continued for Stage 8 of the 2017 Dakar today, with the organisers making the decision to shorten another section of the route. The first change to the road book was made early in the day with the shortening of the first part of the special by 73km to restart at the border with Argentina. Read More »
