Creator of the ‘Lovely Crinkly Edges’ of Norway honoured with classic car rally in Scandinavia from 23 August to 7 September 2017

Slartibartfast – a character from the 1980’s cult book The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy – now has a new claim to fame: having a classic car rally named after him, which honours his great work creating the fjords of Norway – or the “Lovely Crinkly Edges”, as he called them.

Organised by Bespoke Rallies, the two-week event from 23 August to 7 September 2017 starts in The Hague, Holland and visits Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Finland, before arriving at the most northerly port of Norway, Kirkenes. Read More »

ash-suttonIt has been announced this morning Team BMR’s Ash Sutton will join the BRDC Superstars roster in 2017 as the young drivers’ programme enters its 10th anniversary year.

The British Racing Drivers Club founded the scheme under the watchful eye of none other than President Damon Hill OBE along with the programme director and ITV commentator Tim Harvey.  Alexander Simms will also remain on board as a BRDC Ambassador alongside his factory BMW drive. Read More »

rac14 (58)The organisers of the Roger Albert Clark Rally have created a deposit system for prospective competitors for the 2017 event (10-13 November). The entry for the rally will be capped at 100 cars to help with event logistics.

From 1 March, intending competitors can reserve an entry on the event with a deposit of £300. Read More »
