Historic competitor Rudi Lancaster offers rally marshals a half price holiday at his North Devon resort.

Front running Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship competitor Rudi Lancaster will offer all marshals at this year’s Rally North Wales a half price stay at his Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks in Devon.

Leading Ford Escort driver Lancaster has long been a supporter of rallying in the UK and has organising club chairman Guy Weaver alongside him in the co-driver’s seat for this year. He has offered to support the army of dedicated volunteers with a generous discount on his complex which is nestled in the North Devon coastline.

This fantastic incentive will be facilitated by the use of a discount voucher code that will be given to any safety marshal, timing crews or officials when they sign on at the event. The code will allow them to book over the phone and they can even get an extra £10 off their stay by booking online.

WSSCC chairman and co-driver Guy Weaver is delighted at Lancaster’s offer.

“Rudi has been a competitor for many years and of course appreciates the dedication our volunteer marshals show to enable us to go rallying” he says. “Rally North Wales is delighted Rudi has supported the event in this way and hopefully it send a message to our ‘orange army’ that we really do thank them for all their hard work. We can’t enjoy the sport we all love without them.”

Sponsored once again by North Wales Rally Services, the Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire Car Club organised event has evolved into one of the most popular events in the British rallying calendar.

Offering 45 miles of quality, classic stages made famous by the World Rally Championship qualifier Wales Rally GB, the event will once again welcome competitors from the ultra-competitive Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship and the popular Pirelli MSA Welsh Rally Championship. The ASWMC Loose Surface Championship and ANWCC Forest Rally Championship will also return after a successful 2016 event.

The Suzuki Swift Shining Stars Series will use the rally as its opening round as the single make formula announced at the Autosport Show in early January will also boast a guest driver for the event. The West Wales Rally Spares HRCR Stage Masters Challenge will also join the event, along with the Jelf Insurance Welsh Clubmans Rally Championship and Brian Dennis Motorsport Welsh Historic Rally Championship.
