The 2017 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship will head into Kielder forest for round three, the Pirelli International Rally (Saturday 29 April) with Nick Elliott and Dave Price bidding for a hat-trick of 2017 victories.

The season started in mid-February on a damp and foggy Red Kite Stages when three crews marked themselves as the early season pace-setters in Ford Escort Mk2s. Elliott and Price emerged victorious that day over reigning champions Jason Pritchard and Phil Clarke while Joe Price and Chris Brooks showed typically strong pace before being sidelined with a failed diff. Baumschlager to drive the Polo R WRC

The world championship-winning car is back: the Volkswagen Polo R WRC will return to action at the Wechselland Rally (28/29 April), which forms part of the Austrian Rally Championship. Raimund Baumschlager (A), competing for the Baumschlager Rallye & Racing Team, will be the first private driver in the world to drive the successful car from Wolfsburg, with which Sébastien Ogier (F) claimed his fourth title in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) last season. Simon and Alister Crook topped the 2017 Fuchs Lubricants R.A.C. Historic Asphalt Rally Championship contenders on round two on Sunday (23 April), Rallye Salamandre in Belgium.

After a tremendous day’s sport in spring sunshine, the top three R.A.C. crews were covered by just over a minute and a half after a first class event on closed public roads around the town of Beaumont in the south of Belgium. Round 2 of the 2017 FIA World Rallycross Championship saw Sébastien Loeb earn Team Peugeot Hansen’s first podium finish of the season in front of packed grandstands at sunny Montalegre, Portugal.

Petersfield based preparation experts MH Motorsport will be aiming to take their second Prestone MSA Junior British Rally Championship (BRC) win in a row, as they head to the Pirelli International Rally in Carlisle this weekend.

British rally co-driver Phil Hall will head to New Zealand today (Monday 24th April) to contest the International Rally of Whangarei alongside domestic rally ace Rhys Gardner.

The 28 year old from Mansfield near Nottingham had just secured a deal to contest a round of the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship in Australia with Rhys Pinter at the end of May, but the progressive co-driver was keen to work on plans for other outings in the southern hemisphere. Read More »

Entries for round 3 of the Fuchs R.A.C. Historic Asphalt Rally Championship, the Mini Epynt Stages (June 4), will open at 8pm tonight (Monday 24 April).

Based on previous years, the entry could well be full by the end of the evening, so please be ready to enter on-line at 8pm tonight to make sure of a place. If you leave it until Tuesday morning, you could well be too late.
