– Top-class rally action roars into Tir Prince in Conwy County
– Tickets just £10 in advance
– Children aged under 16 go FREE

October’s Dayinsure Wales Rally GB will blast off in sensational style when the world’s best rally drivers take on a new challenge to open the event.

A spectacular competitive stage will be created at the Tir Prince Raceway in Towyn, County Conwy, complete with jump and donut, to begin three days of unmissable World Rally Championship action.

This thrilling new addition to the three-day itinerary will feature a 1.1-mile (1.7km) floodlit course incorporating parts of Tir Prince’s trotting track and other areas within the park.

Thanks to the proactive and enthusiastic support from Conwy County Borough Council – the rally’s official ‘Host County’ – the Visit Conwy Special Stage at Tir Prince will be an amazing opportunity for the north Wales public to see these amazing new WRC cars in action.

In addition, fans will be treated to a full evening of exhilarating car-themed entertainment with autograph sessions, interviews, commentary, big screens, dedicated trackside viewing areas, catering, a funfair, merchandise shopping and much, much more.

The Tir Prince stage offers outstanding value, with adult tickets priced at just £10 when purchased in advance (£15 on the gate), while accompanied children aged 15 and under are admitted free. Admission is included with the four-day World Rally Pass, available for £99, and the Thursday Day Pass, which costs £28.

The venue is easily accessible, situated close to Kinmel Bay in the busy north Wales resort region and close to the A55 north Wales Expressway, providing straightforward travel for those in cities such as Liverpool and Manchester.

“It’s going to be a great night out,” enthused Ben Taylor, Dayinsure Wales Rally GB Managing Director. “Rallying is an amazing sport, but it can be difficult for people to get to see it, so we are always looking for innovative ways to bring it to new audiences.

“The stage at Tir Prince will be a great first, bringing the action to the heart of this busy region and getting the event off to the best possible start. With many people on half-term holidays, the area will be buzzing; I have no doubt that we’ll get an amazing crowd for this memorable event.”

The award-winning events team at Conwy County Borough Council has been instrumental in facilitating this opening stage at Tir Prince. It is understandably delighted to be pushing the boundaries and bringing the outstanding FIA World Rally Championship to new parts of the county.

Conwy County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy, Venue Cymru, Marketing and Events, Councillor Louise Emery said: “Bringing this Special Stage to Tir Prince is fantastic news for the area. With over 35,000 holiday bed spaces in the immediate locality there is potential to draw a large audience from across the North West of England. An event of this calibre will draw in thousands of people who will come and enjoy the area providing a welcome economic boost to our towns.”

Adam Williams, Managing Director of the Tir Prince Leisure Group, is elated to be welcoming the WRC stars and cars. “We are delighted to be hosting the opening stage of this year’s Dayinsure Wales Rally GB at Tir Prince Raceway Towyn,” he confirmed. “We feel that our 50-acre site is an ideal location for spectators to enjoy the thrills of top class rally driving, whilst our onsite amusement park will ensure that there is plenty to do for all of the family.

“The atmosphere created by our floodlight arena will enhance the exhilaration of seeing the contestants racing against-the-clock. It is a privilege to be asked to host the world championship rally and we are delighted to bring such a prestigious event to the east of Conwy County.”
