• World Rally Championship event teams up with Dee Radio Group
• New strategic partnership with top regional broadcaster
• Spreading the word to new audiences in key catchment areas

The prominence of the high-profile FIA World Rally Championship in the UK will be further accelerated through an exciting new partnership with the Chester-based Dee Radio Group.

The far-reaching strategic alliance will promote this year’s Dayinsure Wales Rally GB (26-29 October) to an even wider audience through on-air advertising, competitions and editorial coverage. The Dee Radio Group, meanwhile, will maximise the presence of a world-class event in its region to promote its growing portfolio of FM and DAB stations to existing and potential new audiences.

The penultimate round of this season’s pulsating WRC will be based in the Rally Village in Deeside, with the majority of the competitive speed tests set in the legendary forests of mid and north Wales. This year’s route also features an exciting new floodlit opening stage at Tir Prince Raceway in County Conwy on the Thursday evening, as well as a return to the historic centre of Chester on Friday afternoon and the family-friendly RallyFest at Cholmondeley Castle on Saturday.

With its Dee 106.3 FM station serving Chester and surrounding areas plus Dee on DAB broadcasting digitally in west Cheshire, north Wales and Merseyside, the Dee Media Group covers a very similar territory.

Moreover, with Silk 106.9 serving Macclesfield and east Cheshire, and the Love 80s stations in Manchester and Liverpool also part of the group, Dee Radio is in the perfect position to publicise the thrills of Dayinsure Wales Rally GB across the North West.

“We are delighted to be announcing this significant new partnership with the Dee Radio Group,” said Ben Taylor, Managing Director of Dayinsure Wales Rally GB. “Through its impressive roster of stations, it is perfectly placed not only to inform existing rally fans but also to bring this incredibly exciting world championship event to new listeners.”

Chris Hurst CEO of the The Dee Radio Group said: ‘We are particularly pleased to be working in partnership with the Dayinsure Wales Rally GB and to be covering the event across Chester and north Wales. This round of the FIA World Rally Championship promises to be incredibly exciting and will no doubt capture our listeners’ attention and provide them with some some great entertainment both on air and on the competitive stages. It’s fabulous that we are so involved in a world class event that features so strongly in the various different regions in which we broadcast.”
