For the second time this season, the Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship and the Fuchs Lubricants R.A.C. Historic Asphalt Championship come together on the same event; this week’s Rally Isle of Man (14-16 September).

The MSA Academy is looking for promising young British rally navigators to fill new places on its co-driver development programme, led by 21-time WRC rally winner Nicky Grist and international competitor Paul Spooner.

Forming part of the governing body’s talent development pathway, the syllabus caters for the needs of the individual, so each co-driver’s support programme is bespoke. After coming first and third respectively in Latvia last year, Sébastien Loeb and Timmy Hansen are determined to notch up another top result there when FIA World Rallycross Championship resumes with Round 10 on September 16-17.

• To fine-tune its preparations for world rallycross’s second visit to Latvia, Team Peugeot Hansen carried out a private test there at the beginning of July. Synchro Motorsport, the voluntary race team based at Honda’s Swindon factory, took the chequered flag in Barcelona to claim their first international championship title.

The factory outfit returned to the UK crowned the Creventic 24H A3 class champions after claiming their second race win of the year in the endurance series. In addition, the three Synchro drivers Alyn James, Dan Wheeler and Martin Byford claimed the Drivers Championship in their class. Read More »
