The Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) will again organise a series of popular and valuable networking events at Autosport International.

On Wednesday 10th January, the MIA’s 12th International Energy Efficient Motorsport Conference in association with AVL RACING will take place from 08:30 – 17:00. Two valuable business and technology subjects are in focus – the next five years will see new business arising from the battle of a variety of energy-efficient powertrains. The other is using technology and data from the sport to increase audiences across the globe by collaborating with the UK’s world-leading creative industries.

The conference will give attendees the opportunity to meet and discuss issues with 200 high-level, international, cross-sector delegates, while opening up new technology and entertainment business opportunities in motorsport and beyond.

In the evening of the first day of the show, Thursday 11th January, the MIA Business Excellence Awards Dinner in association with WMG attracts over 500 guests from across the globe. This major B2B networking event will be entertained by well-known comedian, John Moloney. Winners of the prestigious MIA awards are chosen by their industry peers voting in each of the seven categories:

– The Business of the Year Award (annual sales over £5 million)
– The Business of the Year Award (annual sales under £5 million)
– The Teamwork Award
– The Technology & Innovation Award
– The Service to the Industry Award
– The Export Achievement Award
– The New Markets Award

During the two dedicated trade days of the show on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th January, numerous free-to attend Business Workshops are offered to exhibitors. Complementing their show stand, they are the ideal platform for a launch or to promote existing products and services to industry executives and guests.

The workshops are free-to-attend and either open to all delegates or restricted to invite-only, so exhibitors can tailor the audience specifically to their business.

The MIA hosts two workshops which focus on cross-sector technology transfer. On Thursday 11th the Motorsport to Automotive Workshop will take place at 11:45 and on Friday 12th the Motorsport to Defence Workshop will take place from 11:45, both within the workshop room – Concourse Suite 22.

Delegations from both the Automotive and Defence sectors are invited to attend the Show through the MIA, these delegates attend these key workshops to engage with the motorsport sector and discuss collaborative business opportunities.

The new MIA Motorsport and Automotive Jobs Fair in association with MotorsportJobs.com, will provide companies with a fantastic opportunity to meet a large number of students, graduates, apprentices and professionals, all interested in pursuing their career within the Motorsport and Automotive industries.

The MIA International Business & Members’ Lounge is THE meeting place for motorsport business executives and overseas business visitors. The lounge provides a professional atmosphere where international buyers, MIA members, their guests and many other key influencers meet, network and conduct business meetings.

Chris Aylett, CEO of The MIA, said: “Autosport International is a great destination where industry members meet, collaborate, learn from experts and find new solutions to industry problems.
