Fans hope weather holds off for UK weekend fixtures

Two weeks following the one-two win in the 24-hour race in Dubai, the new Audi R8 LMS GT4 will now be racing in North America. The audience there will get to see the customer sport race car for the first time in the traditional opening round of the IMSA Series at Daytona from January 27 to 28. Welsh rally driver Sara Williams has underlined her first successful foray into the French Renault Clio R3T Trophy that saw her competing – literally – at a high level throughout France. Driving in rallies that took her and co-driver Mark Glennester into the Cols of Mont Blanc, Midi Pyrenees and the Mountains that form the backdrop to the Cote D’Azur were just a few of the challenges she faced in 2017. Those distinctions were added to at the NEC Exhibition Centre in Birmingham Autosport Show in Birmingham last weekend, as Sara collected the prestigious GoldStar Elite Award presented by the British Womens Racing Drivers Club – an award that she first won two years ago. Organisers of this year’s Rally North Wales have released their event regulations, marking a significant change in the format for the Dolgellau based forest stage rally which takes places on 24th March 2018.

Sponsored once again by North Wales Rally Services, the Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire Car Club organised event will see a major change in its 60th year with a split format for two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive machines. In what will effectively be two separate events, Rally North Wales will be the first event in the UK to adopt the new layout, based on the Rally 2WD initiative. Read More »
