The 2018 competition season kicked off for Baggsy this past weekend with Round One of the Irish Drift Championship. An action packed motorsport weekend of Drifting and Rallycross all hosted at Mondello Park in Ireland.

The second round of the 2018 Junior 1000 Ecosse Challenge took place at Kames Motorsport Centre, Muirkirk on 22nd April 2018. 14 crews entered – including 2 rally first timers and 1 crew from the F1000 J1000 Championship. The day turned out to be one of Joy, Despair, and Drama with the weather adding to the situation. Joy for the 6 crews who came through the day relatively unscathed and Despair for the other 8 who experienced all sorts of problems. Drama came on the second last stage when hard charging Ollie Hunter/ Tom Hynd (Peugeot 107) ended up on their side. Read More »

The first of an uninterrupted series of four gravel events, Rally Argentina is almost certain to be the championship’s most demanding weekend for the cars. Citroën Total Abu Dhabi WRT will be entering three crews in South America, with Kris Meeke / Paul Nagle, Craig Breen / Scott Martin and Khalid Al Qassimi / Chris Patterson, and will also be running a recently homologated upgrade to the C3 WRC’s rear axle.

A JUBILANT, FESTIVE ATMOSPHERE
The traditional hub of Rally Argentina, the Province of Cordoba has an almost religious reverence for rallying. Every year, excited fans flock to the event, thrilled by the WRCs flying along the region’s tough gravel roads at high speeds. Having won ten of the last thirteen rallies held here, Citroën obviously holds a special place in the hearts of the local aficionados, who line the roads in huge numbers throughout the weekend. Thousands of spectators enjoyed a successful Corbeau Seats Rally Tendring & Clacton (22 April), the first closed-road event organised under new legislation in England.

Melvyn Evans and co-driver Sean Hayde made history by winning the inaugural event, organised by Chelmsford Motor Club and a team of 500 marshals and officials. Hugh Hunter and Rob Fagg took second, while Kevin Proctor and Andrew Roughead completed the podium.

An estimated 3500 people visited the service areas in Clacton-on-Sea, while 2500 more witnessed the competitive action from the spectator areas. Read More »
