Rapid Nissan Micra Kit Car pilot Steve Brown was forced to make a last minute switch to a Historic specification Mini Cooper last week, just days ahead of his trip to Rallye Salamandre in Belgium (22nd April).

The Rochdale rally driver was due to use the Nissan to kick off his second assault in as many years on the Flanders International Rally Challenge (FIRC), but less than a week before he was due to leave, Brown was informed the car would not be ready in time and he was faced with the possibility of not competing at all. Hampshire based preparation firm MH Motorsport will mount a three-car assault on this year’s Junior Prestone MSA British Rally Championship as Norwegian ace Oscar Solberg announces he will re-join the team ahead of the opening round of the series, the Pirelli International Rally (28th April).

Solberg, son of World Rally Championship legend Henning, will drive an MH Motorsport Ford Fiesta and will be co-driven by Patrick Barth. Formula E continues its European tour. On Saturday, April 28, Team Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler will stop in Paris. In the race around the Dôme des Invalides, the drivers Daniel Abt and Lucas di Grassi intend to continue their strong run of results. Avon Tyres is the official tyre supplier to the newly launched Series Elite, which has been unveiled this week.

Series Elite is a new one-make racing series that has been designed to allow amateur and more experienced drivers to compete on a level playing field. The sports car selected for the championship is the new Jaguar F-TYPE SVR in GT4 specification, with an anticipated field of 20 cars for the first full season to be held in 2019. Read More »

After competing in Corsica and Paraguay in recent weeks, busy co-driver Phil Hall will make a return trip to New Zealand in the next few days, where he will compete alongside rapid national driver Rhys Gardner at the International Rally of Whangarei (4th – 6th May).

Just days after narrowly missing out on a podium spot in South America at the Super Rally del Nanduti alongside Skoda Fabia R5 pilot Miguel Garcia, Hall will embark on a trip to New Zealand to partner Gardner in a top-flight Mazda 2 AP4+. Read More »

Andrew Jordan will give British fans plenty to cheer about when he returns to the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy at Silverstone next month, as he prepares to trade the microphone for the steering wheel at the inaugural Speedmachine festival (26/27 May).
