Preparation for the Woodpecker stages got off to a bad start when only 2 days after returning from the previous Nicky Grist stages, Scott Mitsubishi suffered a catastrophic transmission failure on a shakedown test. With no spare budget available, Scott was faced with the prospect of having to sit out for the remainder of the season. That was, until long-serving sponsor Tony Robinson at Professional Motor-sport World Expo heard of the bad news. The UK Motor Sports Association (MSA) today announced the appointment of Hugh Chambers to the role of Chief Executive Officer.

Chambers will assume the position of CEO from 1 November 2018, taking on the leadership of the UK’s governing body for motorsport.
