Less than ten seconds separated the first three cars on the overnight leaderboard after the 10.43 opening stage of the Historic Cup section of the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire last night (Friday) with Ripon’s Matthew Robinson claiming first blood in Dalby Forest.

Robinson and co-driver Sam Collis, in a Ford Escort Mk2, held a slender two-second advantage over Llandudno’s current British Rally Championship leaders and already crowned BTRDA Champions Matt Edwards/Darren Garrod, reverting to ‘historics’ in the Filey-based event and driving a replica of a 40-year old Fiat 131. This past weekend was a busy one for Baggsy and the SB Motorsport team. Mondello Park in Ireland played host to the double header event of the season. Not one, but two finals in the form of the Irish Drift Championship and the Drift Masters GP. This promised to be an action packed weekend.

The weekend kicked off with a whole day of practice Friday. First up for the main events was the Irish Drift Championship final on Saturday. After a morning practice session, it was straight in to qualifying. The first run saw a full wet track, whilst the second run was full dry. Not the ideal conditions for any driver, but Baggsy would find himself taking the 9th position, and Acorn Insurance teammate Nigel Colfer sat in 15th. Read More »

Nationwide Accident Repairs is on the verge of a historic fifth Carrera Cup championship title as they head to Brands Hatch for the final two races of the season. Dino Zamparelli, driving the familiar orange, blue, and white Nationwide Porsche, has an eight-point lead going into the weekend.
