After missing last years edition we returned to a windy Lake District to see a full entry tackle the Grizedale Stages. The first run through the 17 mile stage saw Stephen Petch & Michael Wilkinson (Fiesta WRC) as the only crew to go under 20 minutes. Jock Armstrong & Cameron Fair (Impreza) were 2nd fastest with Josh Moffett & Keith Moriarty (Fiesta R5) 3rd fastest after dropping over half a minute with an early issue on the stage. Moffett then went fastest on the first run through the short Broughton Moor stage before sharing fastest time with Petch on the 2nd run.

It was enough for Moffett to pass Armstrong for 2nd place, 15 seconds behind Petch. Armstrong had to pay close attention to John Wink & John Forrest (i20 R5) as they had narrowed the gap down to 10 seconds through the two Broughton Moor stages. On the 2nd run through the long Grizedale stage Moffett took a staggering 59 seconds out of Petch to take victory by 44 seconds. With the rain setting in most crews went slower on their 2nd run through Grizedale, with a number having moments including Armstrong who went two a half minutes slower, slipping to 7th overall. Wink took the final podium place from event sponsor Thomas Preston & Carl Williamson (Fabia R5), who was 2nd fastest on the stage.

In the 2WD battle Alan Walker & John Connor (Escort MkII) came out on top after Adrian Hetherington & Cathal Mulgrew (Escort MkII) dropped 9 minutes on the final stage, losing their 25 second advantage over Walker and ending up 43rd overall. Mark Shaw & James Coxon (Sunbeam) were 2nd a minute and a half back with Barry Lindsay & Caroline Lodge (206) 3rd 2WD crew home and the first front wheel drive crew.
