The Accelera tire brand has announced a new partnership with Essex-born drift driver Steve ‘Baggsy’ Biagioni as his exclusive tire sponsor during the Autosport International Show this week. A Monster Energy-backed athlete, a winner of the British Drift Championship and a Top Gear official demo driver, Baggsy has been competitively racing for the last ten years and achieved notable success in his career so far, making him a formidable force in the drift scene.

“Accelera is poised for growth in the global performance tire segment, and we see our partnership with Baggsy as not just a sponsored driver, but a true global brand ambassador for Accelera,” Mariam Zafar, Marketing Director for the Accelera brand in the Americas.

Baggsy will be the first European driver to use the Accelera 651 Sport tire in drift competition, as he looks to top the podium in his newly built Nissan PS13. The 651 Sport is a semi-slick race-compound tire engineered for competitive race environments and comes in both 100 and 200 treadwear options. The partnership to support an up and coming brand like Accelera in expanding their footprint in the performance tire segment marks a new era in Baggsy’s career.

Baggsy- I’m really stoked to be partnering Accelera. A really progressive brand with a fantastic product. The Accelera 651 Sport R tire is a serious contender and we can’t wait to show the world how good it is. The whole team are really excited about our partnership with Accelera and look forward to sharing more updates with you soon.

Scott Brandon (MD)- Our commercial partnership with Accelera is a great opportunity to grow both our brands and take them to a higher level. The passion and enthusiasm of the Accelera team has been amazing from our first meeting and we know that together we will be a force to be reckoned with.

In 2019, Baggsy has a full season of racing events including the Drift Masters Series and the Goodwood Festival of Speed. He will also have a presence in the USA through numerous demos with Monster Energy, FIA Rallycross, and more.
