SpeedMachine today launches a promotional video which showcases the breadth of cars and stars which will feature at the event on the Bank Holiday weekend of May 25-26.

It features SpeedMachine front man DJ BBQ who is charged with keeping the cars away from prying eyes and under lock and key ahead of the event.

All is quiet. DJ BBQ is sat in the CCTV hut of the SpeedMachine Storage Facility reading recipes from his new book. Suddenly his radio blurts out a message that something is stirring in the multi-storey car park in East London. And the neighbours are not best pleased.

The drivers are getting itchy right feet, chomping at the bit for some SpeedMachine-style action. Chaos ensues. The cars run amok. DJ BBQ sets about shutting them down – to no avail.

The main offenders are Frenchman Cyril Raymond at the wheel of his GCK Academy World RX team Renault Clio RS, British and European Drift Champion Steve ‘Baggsy’ Biagioni in his fire-spitting Monster GTR. They are joined by the ex-Ari Vatanen Ford Escort Cosworth and Will Gollop’s mighty RX MG Metro 6R4. The HPI radio-controlled World RX replicas join in the fun.

At least the Liberty Walk BMW i-8 resisted temptation, providing a menacing presence – albeit statically, while RacingLine’s Sam Roach does sedate tours of the facility in his Volkswagen R.

The cars eventually reach the rooftop for a series of celebratory doughnuts. Finally, DJ BBQ is powerless to prevent Lee Gallimore staging burnouts in his 1,500hp ear-splitting Red Mist dragster.

The Dayinsure World RX of Great Britain, the UK leg of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, is the racing focal point of the festival, round four of World RX.

SpeedMachine brings together an assortment of motorsport activity, street food and world-class entertainment including headline acts Sean Paul and Jax Jones.

DJ BBQ, aka Christian Stevenson, will revert to his day job and serve up his unique blend of meats and beats as the music host for the event.
