A fantastic weekend of rallycross was capped off with drama through the semi-finals and then a closely fought final. The first semi final looked to be a routine 1-2 for the Hansen brothers in their 208’s with Timmy leading Kevin as they jokered on the last lap well ahead. Timmy got through okay but Kevin turned in too early and clipped the barrier on the inside of the hairpin left. By the time he got sorted out the top 3 places were gone. In the other semi final Janis Baumanis (Fiesta) got a flyer off the start, from the 3rd row, whilst Joni Wiman (i20) bogged down off the startline. It bunched the field up and Liam Doran (S1) was going door handle to door handle with a charging Baumanis.

The pair clashed several times over the opening half a lap with Doran coming off worse, Wiman then found himself with no space as he hit Doran and this car flipped over, leading to a red flag. Doran had plenty of red mist and the body language from his car was clear for Baumanis to see. The restart was less fraught and Andreas Bakkerud (S1) took victory with Doran following behind and Krisztian Szabo completing an Audi 1-2-3.

The final saw Bakkerud out drag Hansen to the first corner and take an early lead. Hansen jokered early and set about closing the gap down and when Bakkerud did his joker lap he came out just a car length behind Hansen, who went on to take victory. Behind Anton Marklund (Megane) looked composed as he completed the podium. Timo Scheider (Ibiza) got faster all weekend to take a superb 4th place with Szabo 5th. Doran had a miserable final coming home in last place.
