It was once again that time of year where 50,000 crazy petrol heads descended upon the quiet village of Rakkestad Norway, for one of the biggest motorsport festivals on the calendar. Gatebil has become a staple for many automotive fans as it takes over Rudskogen Motorsenter every year.

Baggsy and his S14a #StreetWeapon were joined by fellow Monster Energy teammates Luke Woodham, Sultan Al-Qassimi and Tessa Whittock. The festival features three full days of drifting and track action, along with after track parties, trade village and plenty more. The event attracts spectators and drivers from all over the globe for its true unique vibe.

Gatebil is one of the craziest motorsport festivals in the world, which gets better each year. If you have never been, then it’s definitely one for the list!

Next up for Baggsy and the team was Round 4 of the Drift Masters European Championship. Bikernieku Circuit is set in the heart of a wild forest in the Latvian Capital, Riga. The 2019 layout was one of the fastest, most exciting and dangerous on the calendar.

With a full day of practice Friday, the drivers were ready to get the party started. Saturday saw the grandstands fill with over 5000 spectators and 500k viewers tune into the livestream. The proceedings were soon under way with qualifying up first. Putting in two solid runs and taking a highest score of 83, Baggsy would find himself in the 14th place for qualifying.

With qualifying out of the way, it was time to get the main event started. 32 of Europes finest drivers were ready to do battle, and Riga takes no prisoners. For his Top 32 battle, Baggsy would find himself against Johannes Hountondji.

Taking the lead position for the first run, Baggsy put in a clean and fast line. Reversing the roles, it was time for Baggsy to take the chase position. Pushing hard and not letting Johannes take any advantage, Baggsy would unfortunately make contact with the wall ending his weekend early.

Baggsy- Gatebil is always a highlight of the drift calendar. It is a crazy event on one of the most amazing tracks! It’s always great to have the chance to push your limits and get some seat time, and there is no better place than Rudskogen Motorsenter. As always the fans are amazing, and to see the whole bank of the last corner filled is such a buzz. Can’t wait for next years instalment.

Again, it was great to be back in Riga for Round 4 of Drift Masters. Last year we had some issues with car, so didn’t get much time out on track. But this year was totally different! The #PS13V8 was on point and the Bikernieku Circuit is a lot of fun to drive, It’s super fast and quite demanding. After qualifying 14th I was feeling confident going into the battles. But unfortunately a mistake in my chase run would see me out of competition. Unfortunately these things happen in motorsport, but we will be back for Round 5 of Drift Masters in Germany.

Next up for Baggsy and the team, is Round 5 of the Drift Masters European Championship at the Ferropolis Circuit in Germany on the 15-18th of August. Then straight onto Atlanta in the USA for GridLife ATL Music & Motorsports Festival on the 23-25th of August.
