* A revised date of the 24th and 25th October has been announced
* The inaugural Historic Rally Festival to be held at Telford and Weston Park, Shropshire
* Cooper Tires announced as title sponsor
* 80 cars from across the rally groups have entered

The inaugural Historic Rally Festival that was planned for the 6th and 7th June has now been postponed to a new date, the 24th and 25th October 2020 at Telford and Weston Park, Shropshire.

In an ever-changing situation, and in line with the current Government guidance, the organisers have worked hard to find a suitable date later in the year to ensure this new historic rally demonstration event goes ahead.

Telford town centre will be open and free to spectators on the Saturday 24th October, featuring live scrutineering, autograph sessions and a ceremonial start.

On Sunday the 25th October, 80 cars will re-visit historic stages made famous by the RAC Rally and Weston Park will be the first live action venue. Tickets already purchased will be automatically transferred to the new date.

Warner Lewis, Event Organiser commented: “It’s been a very challenging situation and the well-being of competitors and spectators has been of the utmost importance.”

“We have so much enthusiasm from the competitors and a superb entry list already, that we were very keen to work with Weston Park and Telford for a revised date in the autumn.”

“We also have some great news to announce, Cooper Tires have confirmed that they will be title sponsor for this year’s event. We are delighted to welcome them; they are huge supporters of motorsport and have a fabulous range of tires for all situations, so we look forward to welcoming them to our event.”

Colin Sweeney, CEO of the Weston Park Foundation comments: “The Historic Rally Festival is a first for Weston and we have been working with such enthusiastic and passionate organisers to make this wonderful event happen. Whilst these are challenging times for everyone we very much hope that the new date will work for drivers and spectators.”

A festival atmosphere will be created for all the family with a classic car show, live entertainment, vintage fun fair and street food village. For those who witnessed the rally atmosphere the first time around, they can bring children and grandchildren to introduce a new generation of fans to the glory days of the rallying championships.
