With summer breaking out in Northern Europe, the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS is back this weekend with the second round of the Sprint Cup which takes place at the popular resort of Zandvoort.

Racing at the Dutch track will be Team WRT where the objective of the Belgian squad is to continue their great start to the season, including Penrith-born Frank Bird who will once again be in action in the Audi R8 LMS in the two races.

The omens are good as the team won both races last year so 21-year-old Frank will be looking to bounce back after the disappointment of retiring in the last round of the Silver Cup in France.

Frank Bird: “It’s been a little while since we had a Sprint Cup, so it will be good to race at Zandvoort. We didn’t manage to transform good performance into a good result at Magny-Cours in the last race through no fault of our own, but Zandvoort is a circuit where the team has very good memories from last year, with my teammate Ryuichiro Tomita winning his first race in Europe. I’ve tested there and the track is fabulous so I will do my best, together with the team, to bring back another good result.”
