The eight-times and reigning Bennetts British Superbike Champions, Paul Bird Motorsport, were out in force recently to support one of their long-term key sponsors, Hager, at the impressive PalmerSport driving event.

The Lake District-based VisionTrack Ducati team were in attendance including double BSB champion Josh Brookes along with rising star of the World Endurance Cup, Team WRT Audi factory driver Frank Bird. Team boss Paul Bird, the most successful owner in BSB history with an impressive CV in motorsport himself, was also there to meet and greet the customers.

Hager runs the event in conjunction with one of their key wholesaler partners CEF, where over 60 customers were invited to experience the thrilling driving event which is PalmerSport based at Bedford Autodrome. From single seater F3000 and Le Mans prototypes, through to competition prepared BMW M2s, it is billed as the greatest driving event on the planet.

Bruce Davies, Hager MD, commented: “The opportunity for our CEF customers to experience PalmerSport is fantastic, and through our relationship with Paul Bird Motorsport, they also get to meet these stars of both two and four wheels to see how they measure up. We are thrilled to be able to give our CEF customers this special VIP experience.”

Paul Bird, a former Grand Prix motocross rider, triple Irish Supermoto champion and former British National Rally champion said: “Hager are one of our most loyal and important sponsors and we are delighted to be associated with them at this event. It’s always good to catch up with people and have a chat away from the intensity of a race weekend and hope everyone enjoyed their day. It’s a bit of fun for the lads too, and great to see everyone having some fun again.”

Frank Bird, who recently won the Silver Cup round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup at Brands Hatch last weekend, was head and shoulders ahead of the others but, following a poor run on the off-road element, had to give best to Josh Brookes who was awarded Driver of the Day by his PBM teammates.
