Motorsport UK is delighted to confirm the F4 British Championship certified by FIA will adopt TOCA’s new onboard signalling system onto its cars from the start of next season. The latest in cockpit safety electronics are being introduced across the British Touring Car Championship and TOCA support series from 2022 and British F4 is one of the first categories to commit to the new equipment.

The state-of-the-art visual display is a major new safety feature that will give Race Control a direct link to drivers, warning them of any yellow flag zones or red flag stoppages. Appropriately coloured LED lights will instantly appear on the instrument panel in the driver’s cockpit as an additional support to the traditional marshalling flags and light panels located around the circuit. Blairgowrie rally driver Finlay Retson is still firmly in the race for the 2021 Junior British Rally Championship despite a difficult weekend at round four of the series, Trackrod Rally Yorkshire [24-25 September].

The 21-year-old was hampered by an early spin on the opening stage of the event, and would never recover the subsequent time loss, eventually taking his Ford Fiesta Rally4 to fourth place to secure valuable points for his Junior BRC title charge. Read More »

Nick Elliott took his second Fuchs Lubricants British Historic Rally Championship maximum points score of the season by snatching victory on the very last stage of last weekend’s Trackrod Historic Cup [24-25 September].

Elliott and co-driver Dave Price were embroiled in a battle all weekend long with BHRC returnees Matthew Robinson and Sam Collis, only for Robinson to suffer rally-ending damage on the final stage of the event, handing Elliott his second win in as many rallies and putting him at the forefront of the 2021 title chase. Fraser Anderson once again demonstrated his incredible speed behind the wheel of his Baxter and Gillespie-backed Ford Fiesta R2T when he opened up an impressive 48.7 second lead in the British Rally Championship Academy Trophy, but the Helensburgh teenager was denied a superb class victory on the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire (24-25 September) after he rolled out of the event on the penultimate stage.
