Superb weather bathed the country and Rally North Wales was set for a dusty 8 stages, in the Dyfi Forestry complex. Overall it was Matthew Hirst & Declan Dear (Fiesta R5) who took victory by 24s from Dylan Davies & Mark Glennerster (Fabia R5). James Williams & Jamie Edwards (i20 R5) were fastest through the opening stage but went off on stage 2, so Hirst took 6 of the remaining 7 stages on his way to victory. Tom Llewellin & Dale Bowen (Mirage R5) completed the podium, just over a minute further back.

The largest part of the rally was the 2WD section, with the British Historic crews dominating the top end. Matt Edwards & Hamish Campbell (131 Abarth) took the victory and 5th overall. They had not even been in the 2WD top 3 after stage 1 but jumped to the top on stage 2 and were then involved in an event long battle with Nick Elliott & Dave Robson (Escort MkII). Elliott ended up 2nd 2WD and Historic, 16s back with Roger Chilman & Patrick Walsh (Escort MkII) completing the 2WD podium, 18s back and just 5s ahead of Henri Grehan & Dan Petrie (Escort MkII).
