Make no mistake: Dakar Rally is the cross-country race of all cross-country races simply by being the toughest automotive race on earth. Despite its fearsome reputation, MINI with its MINI ALL4 Racing has achieved four (2012-2015) consecutive Dakar wins and now looks to a fifth demolition of the competition in 2016. MINI’s bid to secure the 2016 Dakar Rally has already begun with the announcement of a starting line-up of 12 MINI ALL4 Racing crews.

Ever since the original Mini evolved in the hands of John Cooper to Mini Cooper 997 rally projectiles, circa 1961, the name Mini is synonymous with international rally involvement and, of course, winning. Read More »

Rallye du Maroc, round nine of the 10-round series of the 2015 FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup, ended (09-10-2015) in glorious victory for MINI with Nasser Al-Attiyah (QAT) and co-driver Mathieu Baumel (FRA) taking the overall win in a MINI ALL4 Racing.

Today’s win is Al-Attiyah’s and MINI’s consecutive triumph at Rallye du Maroc, mirroring the win achieved in the 2014 edition. Starting today’s final race (Leg 5) in first position overall, Nasser Al-Attiyah and Mathieu Baumel drove a tactical race across 314 km of “The Loop Of Agadir” to finish in eighth place – perfectly placed to take the overall win.

Talking about today’s success, Al-Attiyah said: “I’m very happy about my victory here in Morocco and the points I gained in the FIA world cup. It was my first priority to increase the gap in the FIA standings to more than 30 points. Now we are ready for the Dakar Rally!” Read More »

Round nine of the 10-round series of the 2015 FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup sees seven MINI ALL4 Racing line up to compete at the Rallye du Maroc, Morroco (3-9th October). This penultimate round is also the last desert rally of the 2015 championship and will serve well as preparation for the 2016 edition of the prestigious Dakar Rally.

Relishing close action at Rallye du Maroc will be present leader Nasser Al-Attiyah (QAT), ably supported once more by co-driver Mathieu Baumel (FRA). At the same time, Al-Attiyah is well aware that he and his co-driver could leave Morocco with the world title in their hands – and MINI once again FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup champion. A maximum of 60 points can be scored in Morocco and if Al-Attiyah succeeds in stretching his lead to more than 30 points he will lift the title because only 30 points will be awarded at the next and last race, Baja Portalegre. Mini pre-Italia15 (1)Round eight of the 2015 FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup, Baja Poland (28-30th August), will feature six MINI ALL4 Racing. Leading the charge once again in their MINI ALL4 Racing will be present World Cup leading crew of Nasser Al-Attiyah (QAT) and co-driver Mathieu Baumel (FRA).

Following on from a convincing win at the Hungarian Baja (14-16th August), Nasser and Baumel now lead the 2015 FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup with just three races of the ten race-series remaining. Being in such a strong position doesn’t mean Al-Attiyah can afford to take his foot off the gas pedal, or Baumel to take his eyes off the road ahead. Read More »

Mini Pharaons15MINI ALL4 Racing dominance of the 2015 FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup has continued at the Pharaons Rally in Egypt this week, with even the infamous leg 3 from Tibniya to Farafra today being insufficient to affect the pace and performance of the MINI ALL4 Racing machines.

Pre-race preparation and testing gave the four driver and co-driver pairings the experience and skill needed to tackle the demanding soft dunes, fast pistes, plateaus as well as the notoriously difficult fesh-fesh – a fine dust-like sand that makes for intense navigation. Read More »

Mini Abu Dhabi15Despite extreme temperatures – highs of forty-seven degrees Celsius during stages three and four of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge – and a severe sandstorm that resulted in the non-starting of the final day’s Stage five racing, the determined challenge of MINI ALL4 Racing ended in an impressive way when Vladimir Vasilyev (RUS) was awarded the all-important win. Further success for MINI ALL4 Racing came with all three podium positions occupied by MINI ALL4 Racing crews, and five in total within the final top ten result list.

The 25th edition of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge (27 March – 2 April) is the second round of the 2015 FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup and quickly proved to be a challenging race. Read More »
