The first rallycross event at Silverstone saw three World RX drivers come and sample the track ahead of the May World RX meeting. Come the final and it was no surprise they filled the podium places but it was how commanding Sébastien Loeb’s victory was. Andreas Bakkerud (S1 WRX) looked unstoppable in qualifying but come the semi’s and then the final he came unstuck against the Peugeot 208 WRX drivers as behind the leader Loeb Timmy Hansen played the joker lap strategy perfectly to take 2nd place. Hoonigan Racing debuts its newest liveries for Ken Block and Andreas Bakkerud and their Ford Performance Focus RS RX rallycross cars, as the World RX race season opens in Barcelona this coming weekend.

Designed in collaboration with U.K. artist David Gwyther, better known as Death Spray Custom, the new liveries harness the look of intense energy (via bolts) while combining a 3D element to the pattern.

Death Spray Custom also created all-new name and number lockups for both drivers, as well as new takes on established and well-known Hoonigan sayings “Kill All Tires,” and “Ain’t Care,” in addition to an all-new Hoonigan logo for placement on the cars. Read More »

worldrx16-argentinaNorway’s Andreas Bakkerud has won World RX of Argentina, the final round of the 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy at the wheel of his Hoonigan Racing Division Ford Focus RS RX Supercar. Volkswagen RX Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson and EKS driver Topi Heikkinen finished second and third.  EKS has clinched the 2016 World RX Teams’ Championship as team-mates Mattias Ekstrom and Topi Heikkinen racked up enough points during qualifying to scoop the coveted title ahead of Team Peugeot-Hansen. WorldRX16 HoljesNorway’s Andreas Bakkerud has won this weekend’s Volkswagen Rallycross of Sweden, round six of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy.  Is it the second event in a row that Bakkerud has won in his Hoonigan Racing Division Ford Focus RS Supercar and the result has elevated 24-year-old Bakkerud to third in the overall driver standings.  Team Peugeot-Hansen team-mates Sebastien Loeb and Timmy Hansen finished second and third respectively in a pair of Peugeot 208 WRX Supercars. WorldRX16 HellNorway’s Andreas Bakkerud has become the first ever driver in FIA World Rallycross Championship history to win all four qualifying sessions [Q1-Q4] plus the semi-final and final. Sweden’s Timmy Hansen took the runner-up spot at this weekend’s NAF World RX of Norway while his compatriot Mattias Ekstrom took the third podium spot.  Ekstrom continues to lead the overall driver standings after five rounds, five points clear of Petter Solberg who is second.
