Timmy Hansen claimed victory in a gripping final of the Dayinsure World RX of Great Britain at the SpeedMachine Festival, the fourth round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy.

Hansen thus became the first double winner of the 2019 season, following victory in Barcelona in round two in his Team Hansen MJP Peugeot 208. Read More »

A fantastic weekend of rallycross was capped off with drama through the semi-finals and then a closely fought final. The first semi final looked to be a routine 1-2 for the Hansen brothers in their 208’s with Timmy leading Kevin as they jokered on the last lap well ahead. Timmy got through okay but Kevin turned in too early and clipped the barrier on the inside of the hairpin left. By the time he got sorted out the top 3 places were gone. In the other semi final Janis Baumanis (Fiesta) got a flyer off the start, from the 3rd row, whilst Joni Wiman (i20) bogged down off the startline. Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson extended his FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy points lead by scoring victory at the Cooper Tires World RX of Great Britain as part of the inaugural Speedmachine Festival at Silverstone.

PSRX Volkswagen Sweden’s Kristoffersson claimed a maximum 30 points from the British event in his Volkswagen Polo R by finishing top of the Intermediate Classification, winning semi-final one and the final, as EKS Audi Sport’s Andreas Bakkerud finished second and Team Peugeot Total’s Sebastien Loeb recovered from a slow start in the final to finish third. The World RX of Great Britain moved to Silverstone for 2018 the relatively short and technical circuit provided a very different challenge to Lydden Hill. As he often does Johan Kristoffersson (Polo R) started slow but a great Sunday saw him qualify fastest for the semi finals. A 1st corner clash with his team mate Petter Solberg lead to a red flag which was fortunate for him. He went through to the final and took the overall victory with Andreas Bakkerud (Audi S1) 2nd and Sébastien Loeb (208 WRX) completing the podium. The first rallycross event at Silverstone saw three World RX drivers come and sample the track ahead of the May World RX meeting. Come the final and it was no surprise they filled the podium places but it was how commanding Sébastien Loeb’s victory was. Andreas Bakkerud (S1 WRX) looked unstoppable in qualifying but come the semi’s and then the final he came unstuck against the Peugeot 208 WRX drivers as behind the leader Loeb Timmy Hansen played the joker lap strategy perfectly to take 2nd place.
