bhrc17-red-kite-bThe special award winners from the opening round of the 2017 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship, the Red Kite Stages (Sunday 19 February) have been announced.

David Hopkins and Tony Vart collected the award for the ‘Best Improvement on Seeding’, which is a set of axle brake pads from Mintex. They had a great run in their 1600cc Sunbeam Talbot to win class D2 as they finally overcame engine dramas that have dogged their progress for 18 months. Read More »

BHRC16 SVS CThe special award winners from the fourth round of the 2016 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship, the Severn Valley Stages (Saturday 4 June) have been announced following the rally that also featured the fourth round of the Holton Homes Clubmans Challenge.

The Holton Homes Clubmans Challenge is for crews using a maximum of six tyres per rally. The top overall finishers from the Clubmans Challenge field were Ben Friend and Cliffy Simmons, who finished seventh overall in their Pinto-powered Ford Escort Mk2. It was another tremendous performance from one of the youngest drivers in the championship. However, it was a close contest as only one place behind were James Potter and Bob Duck after their best result of the season so far. Read More »

BHRC16 RNWcThe special award winners from the second round of the 2016 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship, Rally North Wales (Saturday 2 April) have been announced following the rally that also featured the second rounds of the Holton Homes Clubmans Challenge and the Welsh Challenge.

The Holton Homes Clubmans Challenge is for crews using a maximum of six tyres per rally. The top overall finishers from the Clubmans Challenge field were Ben Friend and Cliffy Simmons (Ford Escort Mk2) who took a superb ninth overall in their Pinto-powered car against many more powerful cars. WWRS FriendThe special award winners for the fifth round of the West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C. Rally Championship have been announced following the Red Kite Stages (Sunday 8 September).

Matt Edwards posted the first retirement of the rally when his Ford Escort Mk2 suffered clutch problems early in the opening Crychan stage. Read More »
