Day three of the 2017 Dakar Rally signalled the first off-terrain stage in this year’s event, with challenges added by the increase in altitude to more than 5,000 metres. Unpredictable weather, ranging from scorching temperatures reaching an estimated 36 degrees to rain at 4,000 metres, provided further tests for the drivers and navigators as they raced towards today’s finish line in San Salvador de Jujuy. Day two of the 2017 Dakar Rally arrived for all competitors with the Stage 2 starting point in the city of Resistencia, Argentina. It was 12:05pm when the first car got away for Stage 2 to cover a total of 803 km, of which 275 km were outlined for the Special Stage off-road section – a section that promised fast racing on dusty and rocky terrain, not unlike a WRC stage. The 2017 Dakar Rally (2-14th January) is only hours away from its eagerly awaited starting time. Over 300 vehicles consisting of cars, trucks motorcycles and quads carrying nearly 500 competitors are readied and waiting for the start of the greatest off-road racing spectacle to be devised. When the start flag drops, 316 vehicles will contest 9000 km of varied terrain, the elements and each other to achieve the honour of completing the Dakar Rally.

Three countries will play their part in the 39th edition of the Dakar Rally. The starting point this year is Asunción, the capital city of Paraguay. As the 12 stages of the 2017 Dakar Rally unfolds; the competitors will cross into Bolivia before completing (14th January) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Read More »

mini-oilibya16-11885 km of varying degrees of difficult terrain proved to be ideal testing conditions for the MINI ALL4 Racing family throughout the six days of the Rally Oilibya of Maroc 2016. Performance and durability testing, along with chassis set-up, were priority for the crews and these were achieved with success by way of reward.

Three MINI ALL4 Racing placed inside the overall top five results. The long-standing pairing of Vladimir Vasilyev (RUS) and Konstantin Zhilstsov (RUS) finished third at the end of the hotly contested desert rally. Mini Poland16 (1)Baja Poland, the seventh round of the FIA Cross Country World Cup, proved once again to be the arena for Polish rally expert Krzysztof Holowczyc to showcase his exceptional driving talent. For Holowczyc, this particular race and fine second place result will be equally memorable as his five previous Baja Poland victories.

The 2016 edition of Baja Poland was a one-off race for Holowczyc – and first major race since his retirement at the end of the 2015 rally season. With fellow countryman Lukasz Kurzeja in the co-driver seat, the pair started Baja Poland in a determined mood. Read More »
