Rhys Yates proved he is one of the most talented rally drivers in Europe by leading last weekend’s Rally Van Wervik (8/9 June) from start to finish, to become the first British driver to win the Belgian event in its 42-year history.

Twenty-five-year-old rally driver Rhys Yates continued his impressive run of form behind the wheel of his Brettex Skoda Fabia R5, by taking seventh overall on his debut in the French National rally series at the Antibes Côte d’Azur Rally (19th/20th May).

Competing against some of the best asphalt rally drivers in the sport, Yates and co-driver Elliott Edmondson would tackle stages more commonly used on the legendary Rallye Monte Carlo. Chesterfield rally driver Rhys Yates will make the long trip to Elgin in Scotland this weekend to tackle the McDonald & Munro Speyside Stages (21st April), round two of the ARR Craib MSA Scottish Rally Championship.

Fresh from a stunning debut in the FIA European Rally Championship in Azores, taking third ERC Junior Under 28 in March, Yates will contest the one-day gravel event to gain valuable seat time in his Skoda Fabia R5 ahead of the opening round of the Prestone MSA British Rally Championship next week in Carlisle.
