SVS14 fillingIt is a case of all systems go for the 2014 Severn Valley Stages (Saturday 31 May), which has already bucked the general trend in 2014 of lower entry numbers on gravel rallies.

With a week to go until entries close on 23 May the event has already taken 90 entries with around another 20 expected next week. The 2013 event received 87 entries in total and the event organisers are thrilled with the response to the 41st running of the rally. Read More »

Severn Valley 14aFairfield Motorsport will support the 2014 Severn Valley Stages (Saturday 31 May) by providing a special award for the best performance for a crew travelling across the Irish Sea to get to the event.

The organisers of the Severn Valley Stages have thrown out an invitation to crews from Ireland and the Isle of Man to come and sample some of the finest gravel stages in the UK. The Fairfield Motorsport Award will be presented to the leading visiting crew. Read More »

By moving to a weekend format, the opening round of the MSA British Rally Championship (MSA BRC) will save participants both time and money, while the later start on Saturday enables many volunteer officials to support the event without the cost of overnight accommodation.

The new format retains the high-quality Forestry Commission stages which have gained the event its international reputation and allows the inclusion of competitive driving in the dark on Saturday evening. The midday Finish on Sunday (for MSA BRC and Mintex MSA HRCR British Historic Rally Championship contenders) makes it possible for the majority of these competitors and volunteer officials to be back at work on Monday morning. midwales13 (57)There was a chill wind blowing on Pikes Peak and through Myherin as the Mid Wales Stages saw the start of the British Historic rallying season. A truly epic battle saw Nick Elliott & Dave Price (Escort MkII) take victory over Martin McCormack & Phil Clarke (Escort MkII) by just over 3 seconds. Both times we saw the crews McCormack was up and on the final stage it was clear to us there was a battle on from the pace of the top crews. Ryan Barrett & Barry Ferris (Escort MkII) completed the top 3, just over a minute further back. This was the RAC Rally Championship and back in the BHRC Championship David Stokes & Guy Weaver (Escort MkI) took a comfortable victory, also taking category 2. 2nd were Gareth James & Steffan Evans (Escort MkII) taking category 3 from Shawn Rayner & Declan Dear (Escort MkII).
