Cumbrian rally driver Aaron McClure suffered a cruel blow to his Ravenol BTRDA Rally Series hopes last weekend (8th April) as he retired from the Somerset Stages Rally during the closing stages of the event.

Twelve months after ending his season in a Somerset ditch, Flookburgh rally driver Aaron McClure made a successful comeback to the sport on last weekend’s Malcolm Wilson Rally.

Driving his freshly rebuilt Yokohama HPT backed Mitsubishi Evo IX, McClure and co-driver Michael Gilbey took fifth spot in the ultra-competitive NR4 Production Cup and a healthy 21st overall in a field which was bolstered by British Rally Championship hopefuls using the event as a test bed for their forthcoming season. Flookburgh rally driver Aaron McClure will kick off his assault on the Ravenol BTRDA Rally Series at this weekend’s Malcolm Wilson Rally.

Sam Bilham pre-Somerset162014 MSA RSF Young Driver of the Year Sam Bilham will head to the South West this weekend in a bid to stay on top of the BTRDA Fiesta ST Trophy standings at the third round of the series, the Somerset Stages Rally. Flookburgh rally driver Aaron McClure will have a new flag on the windows of his Mitsubishi Lancer in 2016, as world renowned co-driver Alex Kihurani joins the 21 year old for an assault on the BTRDA Production Cup.  The 29 year old experienced American, who is now living in London, has a wealth of experience in several major rally championships both at home and in Europe. Leading flooring and carpet firm All Floors Express has renewed its backing of Cumbrian rally ace Aaron McClure as he bids to secure the 2016 BTRDA Production Cup title.  The nationwide internet retailer has supported McClure since his first season in the F1000 Junior Rally Championship, but the backing was due to expire at the end of the 2015 season. However, thanks to the promise showed by the 21 year old in his debut season in a four-wheel drive Mitsubishi E9, McClure secured a deal to extend his support throughout 2016. Read More »
