PICTURE 1 Callum AtkinsonLauder’s Callum Atkinson won his class on Saturday at the Scottish Rally in Dumfries by 0.3 seconds.

The 21-year-old RSAC Motorsport scholar, who currently leads the Ecosse Challenge round, took to the five forest stages in Dumfries and Galloway clocking up around 40miles with co-driver Sue Hynd.

Picture1This week more than a hundred rally drivers from across the UK and overseas will hail to Dumfries for the Scottish Rally however under the close watch of RSAC Motorsport will be this year’ two scholarship winners.

Blair Brown (17) from Muckhart, Kinross and Callum Atkinson (22) from Lauder both received a package worth more than £1000 from RSAC Motorsport, including free entry to the Rally, and guidance from the diverse team that put on the event. Read More »

Two aspiring young rally drivers have been named as joint winners of a prestigious new scholarship run by RSAC Motorsport, in conjunction with the Brick & Steel Ecosse Challenge.

Craig Rutherford from the Isle of Mull and Callum Atkinson from Lauder were both deemed worthy of the award by a panel of judges at the weekend.

The 21-year-olds were up against strong competition from two other finalists, Scott Balgowan from Duns and Scott Peacock from Castle Douglas. Read More »
