Penrith driver Frank Bird rounded off a fantastic season in great style when he scored a podium finish in today’s fifth and final round of the Fanatec GT World Cup Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup in Barcelona.

Frank Bird goes in search of Barcelona podium

The Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS comes to an end this weekend with the fifth and final round of the Endurance Cup at Barcelona where Cumbrian driver Frank Bird will be in action.

22-year-old Frank, from Penrith, will again be at the wheel of the Team WRT Audi R8 LMS in which he’ll partner Japanese ace Ryuichiro Tomita and Danish driver Valdemar Eriksen.

Sweden’s Timmy Hansen raced to victory at the Logitech G FIA World RX of Pirineus-Barcelona 2030, round seven of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy (17 October), his first victory since winning the 2019 Drivers’ title.

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is the venue for rounds seven and eight of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy this weekend, 17-18 October.

Saturday’s round seven is named to support the local bid for the 2030 Winter Olympics, Logitech G FIA World RX of Pirineus-Barcelona 2030 while round eight on Sunday is named Logitech G FIA World RX of Catalunya.

Adielsson takes victory in dramatic opening round of World RX eSports Invitational

Swedish rally driver Mattias Adielsson upstaged the FIA World Rallycross Championship regulars, invited stars and professional gamers to claim a dramatic victory in the opening round of the World RX Esports Invitational – the Catalunya Edition.

The inaugural event, run on DiRT Rally 2.0 in partnership with Codemasters and Motorsport Games, attracted a grid of 20 drivers and took place on the virtual Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the venue for the scheduled opening round of the 2020 world championship which has been postponed due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.

All-star cast in inaugural World RX eSports Invitational

The inaugural World RX Esports Invitational event will take place this Sunday (April 19), at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the venue scheduled to host the opening round of the 2020 FIA World Rallycross Championship prior to postponement due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.

However, in collaboration with Codemasters and Motorsport Games, using DiRT Rally 2.0, the World RX promoter IMG will stage the World RX Esports Invitational Catalunya Edition featuring an all-star line-up including World Champions, GT and WRC racers, Youtubers and some of the biggest names from the field of Esports.

The World RX Esports Invitational has also partnered with GameByte, the No.1 gaming publisher on Facebook to bring all the action to gamers around the globe.

Baggsy – FIA World Rally Cross Catalunya 2019

It was back to Sunny Spain this past weekend for Baggsy. And this time he got to play on the world famous F1 Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

With the FIA World Rally Cross descending upon the Spanish community of Catalonia, Baggsy and the #LSXR35 came to bring the noise to the party. Kicking off the weekend with a photoshoot on the F1 start line, the #LSXR35 looked right at home.

Joined by fellow Monster Energy athlete Luke Woodham and in front of a crowd of 25k crazy WRX fans. Baggsy brought the Monster Energy smoke show with four demos over the course of the weekend. And to top it off, a couple of lucky fans got to join him in the passenger seat.

Clean sweep for Timmy Hansen in World RX of Catalunya

Timmy Hansen rounded out an imperious weekend in Barcelona with victory in the final of the Cooper Tires World RX of Catalunya, round two of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy.

The Swedish driver rebounded from an event-ending qualifying crash in the season-opener in Abu Dhabi three weeks’ ago to top both days of qualifying, winning his semi-final and then stamping his authority on the final.

Added spice for World RX combat in Catalunya

The FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy moves to Barcelona this weekend for the World RX of Catalunya, the second round of the series, with expectation hanging heavy in the air.

If the opening round in Abu Dhabi three weeks’ ago is any barometer, the action at the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona will be hotly contested.
