Connor McCloskey and Noel O’Sullivan secured victory at today’s MJE Wheel Repair sponsored Tyrone Stages Rally, the final round of the McGrady Insurance MSA Northern Ireland Stage Rally Championship!

Connor McCloskey and Noel O’Sullivan have extended their lead at the MJE Wheel Repair Tyrone Stages Rally. The Fiesta crew top the standings by 17 seconds from Derek McGarrity and Paddy Robinson, with William Creighton and Liam Regan third.

“It’s a lot better now that all my brakes are working again,” McCloskey said when he arrived back into service.

Second-placed Derek McGarrity commented that he’s “going as quick as I can with the rear differential issue” and William Creighton had another clean run and is growing in confidence with the car as each stage progresses.

In fact, Creighton managed to take four seconds out of McGarrity on stage eight and was just two seconds slower than the pace set by the rally leaders. Seven seconds separate him and McGarrity. Read More »

A blistering run through the final stage of the Team GMF Wyedean Forest Rally, Speech House, elevated Connor McCloskey and co-driver Francis Regan into the lead of the event just when it mattered! Competing in the Forest of Dean for the first time, the Ulstermen’s Subaru Impreza WRC arrived back at the Chepstow Racecourse finish seven seconds ahead of the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO9 of David Wright/Michael Wilkinson which, in turn, was three ahead of 2007 Wyedean winners Hugh Hunter/Andy Marchbank (Ford Focus WRC).

With just the run through Speech House to go, the timesheets showed Hunter to be in the lead from Euan Thorburn, with Wright third and McCloskey fourth. Read More »
