Another packed weekend saw us take in our first sporting trial at Long Compton. It did not disappoint as a 36 car field took to the start across the 8 hills. The championship regulars were out as every point counts towards the BTRDA Championship Finals in January. The well drained slopes actually saw one crew clear all 8 tests on both morning runs, so some route alterations and the drizzle showers livened up the afternoon run. All in all another great day out, which is always the way whenever out on a sporting trial. Read More »

wheels13 (115)Another glorious night in the heart of Warwickshire for the annual Coventry & Warwicks Motor Club summer gathering, Wheels. There was a wide array of cars, some dubious in terms of their classic quality, but the ones that appealed to us were the 60’s and 70’s cars and the American muscle cars on display. The chopped Hudson was simply sublime, the chrome AC Shelby Cobra 427 gorgeous and the whole host of Mustangs a pure pleasure to look at. Once again a great night out down the Blue Lias with a few beers too. Read More »

Another night down the local and 2012 saw the biggest turn out yet, (they may need a new bigger venue for 2013). With in excess of 200 cars on display it was a testament to the hard work of the Coventry & Warwick Motor Club that the event even ran following the recent inclement weather. Roll on 2013 and another pleasant summer’s evening down the Blue Lias… Read More »

Stormy and ominous skies were overhead for Wheels 2011 but the turnout out the Blue Lias was fantastic, all considered. In terms of the winners the overall winner was the ‘Likeamobile’ Steam Car of David Draper, with class awards going to the Jaguar XJS of Kevin Murray (post 1980 class), the Camaro belonging to Andrew Newman (American class) and the AC Cobra 427 of Paul Blore (competition class). Let’s hope mid June 2012 is a bit more clement next year… Read More »

A great night down at the Blus Lias pub for the annual Wheels meeting, organised by the Coventry & Warwickshire Car Club. A whole range of cars were down there with a smattering of competition cars amongst the immaculate road cars. As expected there was a distinct British flavour to the cars with a whole host of local classics. Read More »

Wheels 09 (56)The annual Wheels evening took place at Blus Lias pub in Stockton, once again run by the Coventry & Warwickshire Motor Club. A wide range of vehicles were on display with Volkswagen probably number the largest number of vehicles from a single manufacturer. Our favourite though had to be the gorgeous silver AC Cobra 427 which just looks good from every angle, even with rain droplets over the bodywork too.

There were various categories but the overall winner was the immaculate Triumph Dolomite Sprint which was probably in better condition then when it left the factory! Read More »
