The MSA British Rally Championship formally unveiled its plans for 2014 at the Competitors Open Day at Curborough Sprint Circuit last Friday, attending teams’ drivers including Mark Higgins, Jonny Milner and Elfyn Evans demonstrating cars on the short asphalt track.

Championship Manager Mark Taylor briefed those attending on the 2014 structure supporting new and junior competitors entering the series for the first time, highlighting a joint prize pot of over £10,000. He also announced the creation of the Constructors’ Commission, which amongst other objectives, has been set-up to broaden the appeal of the sport. The MSA British Rally Championship will hold its annual open day for competitors at the Curborough Sprint Circuit on Friday 29th November.

Manufacturers and professional motorsport teams will be invited to attend, providing potential BRC competitors an opportunity to talk to them about options for 2014. The twisty all-asphalt track to the north of Birmingham will be made available for test drives.

BRC control tyre supplier Pirelli will also be at the event with a range of gravel and asphalt tyres and to help promote the Pirelli Star Driver scheme for next year. BRC officials and event representatives will be on hand to answer questions. Read More »

The MSA British Rally Championship will hold its annual open day later this year, the Curborough Sprint Circuit-based event planned for Friday 21st September, a week before the final round of the 2012 season in Yorkshire.

The event will be supported by four manufacturers again, Citroën, Ford, Peugeot and Renault providing cars for potential BRC competitors to sample on the twisty all-asphalt track to the north of Birmingham. The 2012 MSA British Rally Championship held its media day at Curborough Sprint Circuit in Staffordshire on Thursday (2nd February), where some of the registered drivers and teams taking part turned out in the dry, bright and freezing conditions to celebrate the start of a new era for the UK’s premier rally championship.

The day began with interviews with the TV, radio and press, followed by a photo-call and then a chance for media and guests to take a ride around the venue’s one-mile asphalt circuit to experience a brief taste of what it’s like inside a rally car at near-competitive speeds. Read More »
