Ravenol BTRDA Rally Series contender George Morrison took his MG ZR to a second class 1400C podium of the season at last weekend’s Nicky Grist Stages in Wales.

Co-driven by fellow HM Forces Mechanic Jon Quintrell, Morrison secured third in class and 60th overall after over 44 miles of tough all-gravel driving at the Builth Wells based event. Cottesmore based rally driver George Morrison will head to this weekend’s Nicky Grist Stages, aiming to put right his devastating last minute retirement from the event last year.

Morrison will contest round five of the Ravenol BTRDA Rally Series which is based in Builth Wells in his usual MG ZR and has his sights set firmly on repeating his class 1400C podium scored last time out in Cumbria. Ravenol BTRDA Rally Series contender George Morrison got his championship season back on track last weekend, taking his MG ZR to third place in the 1400C class at the DMACK Carlisle Stages.

After suffering a devastating opening stage retirement at the Somerset Stages in April, the MG ZR pilot headed to Cumbria to re-invigorate his championship hopes in the 1400C class and duly delivered, taking his first podium spot of the season. Read More »

George Morrison suffered a cruel blow to the start of his Ravenol BTRDA Rally Series campaign when he was forced to retire his MG ZR on the opening stage of last weekend’s Somerset Stages Rally.

The Cottesmore driver headed to the Minehead based event to open his assault on the 1400C class, MGZR Challenge and Army Stage Rally Championship but his event was over before it really began, retiring after the very first test when a driveshaft snapped on the MG. Read More »

MG ZR rally ace George Morrison was dealt the cruellest of blows to his BTRDA Rally Challenge assault last weekend as he retired from the Nicky Grist Stages just miles from the ceremonial finish.  After completing over 40 gruelling miles in the forests around the Epynt Military Ranges, the MG suffered a snapped shock absorber on the final stage, forcing the Cottesmore pilot to retire on the road section back to the finish.

Morrison and regular co-driver Jon Quintrell had endured a fraught few months in preparation for the fourth round of the BTRDA Rally Challenge after a fractured wrist brought about a withdrawal of their entry to the third round in Cumbria. But despite his non-score, Morrison headed to the Builth Wells based event second in the championship and would look to build on his decent points haul so far this year. Read More »
